The fascinating Boa table collection, inspired by Japanese bamboo art, was created in collaboration with German designer Stefan Diez. Boa fits seamlessly into the New Work era and focuses on innovation and sustainability.
In today’s blog, we want to introduce you to the new Boa table collection and its special features.
About HAY
Since 2002, the Danish design company HAY has pursued the vision of making high-quality design accessible to a wide audience. In collaboration with international designers, HAY has developed into a globally recognised brand for contemporary furniture design.
In 2019, HAY became part of the prestigious American designer brand MillerKnoll. This partnership strengthened HAY’s global presence while maintaining its identity as a Danish design brand.
HAY’s corporate philosophy focuses on durable and well-designed products. The company emphasises sustainability and the use of high-quality materials.
Boa collection: design, flexibility and sustainability
The idea for the Boa table was originally conceived by Stefan Diez, inspired by an old project with bamboo. Environmental concerns and the unsustainable use of bamboo led to a rethink, and together HAY developed a concept that switched to the use of aluminium.
The main objective was to create a large, easily transportable and easy to assemble conference table. No large assembly team was required, which would allow for easy shipping and assembly.
Flexibility and ease of use
In addition to its aesthetic design, the Boa table impresses with its practicality. Its low weight and innovative folding technology make it not only transportable, but also easily portable – a unique feature among conference tables. This creates a wide range of possible applications, whether in the office, conference room or as a temporary work surface.
In the following video you can see how effortlessly the table can be assembled:
Versatility and customisation
The collection offers different table sizes, colours and materials. The compact frame ensures stability and mobility. Inspired by traditional bamboo art, the Boa Table’s innovative design allows power supply and cable management to be integrated into the frame and table top. The table tops are available in different materials such as linoleum, laminate, wood or glass to meet individual requirements.
Focus on sustainability
The sustainability of the Boa table is reflected in its production: the frame is made from 75% recycled aluminium and is manufactured in Denmark using renewable energy. This approach significantly reduces the ecological footprint.
