Hauser Academy in the Designwerkschau – Arper, Mizetto & Lintex

For us, the Hauser Academy is all about learning together as a team. We consciously take time to delve deeper into materials, products and manufacturers – always with the aim of improving our advice, clarifying our understanding and making our projects even more coherent.

This time, we got out of the office and into the Designwerkschau in Munich – an exciting place for anyone involved in interiors, design and interior design.

What is the Designwerkschau?

The Designwerkschau is a permanent showroom on the Auer site – in the centre of Munich. A wide variety of brands from the world of design and furniture exhibit their current collections there. The big advantage: you don’t just see the products in the catalogue, but in the room. You can touch, experience and compare them.

Many of our partners will be there: Wiesner Hager, Lintex, Arper, Creation Baumann, Mizetto and many more. This is the perfect opportunity for us to gather new ideas and exchange ideas – both with the manufacturing teams and with each other.

Lintex – whiteboards that almost feel like a wall

We started at Lintex. A special feature of the standard boards: they are extremely close to the wall – just four millimetres from the wall. This makes them look almost like an integrated wall element. Together with the gently rounded corners and the clear, understated design, this creates an elegant impression that is particularly effective in calm, modern room concepts without being obtrusive.

The boards are available in various materials – including classic aluminium, magnetic ceramic steel or as glass boards in a matt or glossy finish. The matt Silk-Glas® in particular ensures an elegant look and a pleasant feel. The glass boards are available in up to 24 colours, making them a real design highlight.

The new A08 shelving system also picks up on this design language – minimalist, modular and visually very harmonious. It can be used in a variety of ways and brings structure to open-plan areas without being loud.

The new ‘Mathematics’ chalkboard also impressed us. With its matt surface, clear lines and calm colour scheme, it is a far cry from classic blackboards – instead, it has a high-quality, understated and yet still present effect.

Another special highlight for us was the Mood Fabric Mobile – now with upholstered legs. The board not only offers full functionality as a mobile whiteboard, but also has a cosy character. Thanks to the textile surface on both the board and the legs, it almost looks like acoustic furniture – ideal for open-plan office environments with changing zones and flexible use.

Arper – Klassiker, neu gedacht

At Arper, things have become stylish as usual – clear, calm and high-quality. The products fit perfectly into modern office environments. This time, the focus was on the Catifa Carta – a chair that remains visually faithful to the familiar Catifa 53, but is based on an innovative material idea.

The seat shell is made from PaperShell, a new type of wood composite material made from 29 layers of paper bonded with a natural resin binder. This material significantly reduces the chair’s ecological footprint by actively binding carbon dioxide throughout its life cycle.

At the end of its useful life, the seat shell can be converted into biochar through pyrolysis. This process prevents the release of stored CO₂ and allows the biochar to be used as a soil conditioner, helping to promote soil fertility and biodiversity.

For us, the Catifa Carta is an impressive example of how material innovation can harmoniously combine sustainability and design without compromising on aesthetics or functionality

Mizetto – function can also be beautiful

Finally, we went to Mizetto – and here it became clear how much design can also be found in the functional corners of an office. Waste separation, storage space, plant solutions – all tone-on-tone, with a high-quality finish and Scandinavian clarity.

The products integrate naturally into different room concepts without being loud. We were particularly impressed by the plant elements, which can be used to create structure and atmosphere at the same time – flexible in use, calm in design and realised to a very high standard.

A big thank you

Thank you to Markus Muhm from Lintex and Markus Wahl from Arper and Mizetto for the exciting insights, your time and your open dialogue.

It was not only informative, but also super inspiring – we would love to come back.

Best regards,
Giulia
